Crush. A beginning.
I grew up in a traditional Italian family, fortunate to have lived a part of my childhood in the Italian village of Valentano. It’s a small town that dates back to the eighth century and even to this day, life in Valentano seems to move a little slower, and Italian traditions run deep and strong.
In my many trips since, I have been drawn back to the small villages of Italy, where the traditions of wine, food, and family are the centerpiece of daily life.
When I started collecting wine in the early nineties, I traveled extensively throughout the Italian wine regions. I was most impressed with the small, independent producers ~ wineries that
craft their wines by hand. Most are family owned, and I found their stories to be as compelling and interesting as the wines themselves. My dream of opening Crush was inspired by these trips and the time I spent with these winemakers.

An enoteca is a traditional Italian wine bar where locals meet to sample local wine and taste simply prepared local cuisine. Crush is intended to embody this spirit – an unpretentious gathering place to enjoy the company of friends and share great wine and conversation. Our lounge is elegant yet relaxed, our servers are knowledgeable and down-to-earth, our menu offerings are simple, fresh and perfectly prepared.

Our focus on artiginal and boutique wineries has not wavered, although my scope has broadened. I hope you will enjoy learning about and sampling our unique and eclectic collection of international wines. Our wine list offers selections produced by smaller and independent wineries not easily found in many wine bars. My partner, Janet Besanceney, and I, take great pride in our wine offerings. Each and every wine we serve is hand selected, tasted and approved by us before it is ever chosen as a wine to serve our guests.
